I know this is an old thread, but I had the same issue. and standalone instrument? What problems or drawbacks may I encounter? Thanks. my post was cut-off anyone have some advice about using this piece of gear as a MIDI ctlr. I'm merely trying to get the most bang for my limited buck though.even though my needs are simple I want to have flexibility. Phweww.what a long-winded explanation for a simple question. I am in the unfortunate position of not having folks to jam with or the money to create a "pro-style" rig.thus the appeal. However, I am flatly ignorant when it comes to "electronic" music (MIDI, virtual instruments, synthesizers, sampling & looping).but it fascinates me. I am fairly knowledgeable when it comes to your basic analog recording process.guitars,amps,mic-pres ect. Anyhow.I have recently acquired the means to set up a small & modest personal recording set-up. I've done some work with Pro-Tools and Logic.but it has been close to ten years. I am primarily a guitar player who has been out of the loop for some time. I've posed this similar question in other threads.so all apologies if I am being redundant. I'm using Reaper w/ the NI Komplete Audio 6 on a PC. Anyhow, my question is.do you guys think this would suffice as a MIDI ctlr. I know this synth is somewhat old but I remember fooling around with it back in the day (belonged to a friend) and really enjoying it.
